What to Look For in the Best Web Hosting in Finland

When I rated the best web hosting in Finland, I made sure that I based them on factors that will be useful for any website owner.

These are the factors I considered:

  • Affordability
  • Security
  • Ease of use
  • Customer support
  • Uptime

Let’s talk about them a little bit.

Affordability

Regardless of whether you’re going to earn from your website or not, affordability should always be a factor.

Why? Simple.

You don’t want to waste money on an expensive web host. And yes, there are so many options out there that are affordable and high-performing.

Security

Do SSL certificates ring a bell to you? If not, then let me tell you why you need them.

They’re the guarantee that tells you that your website’s data is encrypted. This means that your website is secured. And who doesn’t want a secure website, right?

Ease of Use

Web hosting is technical, but the best web hosting in Finland makes sure that they have plans that make it easy to manage your site, even for newbies and non-programmers.

To know if a hosting plan is user-friendly, look for the control panel they use and if they have a website builder. Check if they use cPanel for the former and an easy drag-and-drop for the latter.

Customer Support

You can’t do away with technical problems, but when they happen, your web host should have a customer representative available to fix them.

In other words, they should have 24/7 customer support that you can reach on at least two channels.

Uptime

One of the most important considerations is uptime.

Uptime refers to the amount of time that your website is going to be up and accessible. For obvious reasons, you want the uptime to be as near as possible to 100%.

While there isn’t a web host that has a 100% uptime, the best providers have a guarantee of 99.9%.

Bluehost

Web Hosting in Finland (5 Best in 2021) BlueHost

Quick facts:

  • Free SSL Certificate
  • Free domain for a year
  • Free CDN
  • One-click install for WordPress
  • Domain manager
  • Resource protection
  • 99.93% (August 2023) uptime

If you ask me, there’s no doubt that Bluehost is the best web hosting in the country.

This web host services more than 2 million websites all over the world. And you just don’t get that many customers when you’re not a reliable web host.

What I love about Bluehost is its affordability. Their basic plan is just $2.95/month and this plan already has everything you need - storage, domain, SSL, you name it!

It also has a resource protection feature if you’re going to be taking a shared hosting plan.

Plus, Bluehost consistently reaches a 99.93% (August 2023) uptime. If you’re the type of site owner that doesn’t want a lot of downtime, then I recommend getting Bluehost.

Setting up a website with BlueHost is simple. To learn how to do it, follow this step-by-step guide:

Web Hosting in Finland (5 Best in 2021) A2 Hosting

Quick facts:

  • 100 GB SSD storage
  • Free SSL certificate
  • Free A2 Optimized software
  • 100% (August 2023) uptime
  • 24/7 customer support via live chat, phone, and email

Another international web hosting provider that’s almost as good as Bluehost is A2 Hosting.

A2 Hosting is one of the most affordable providers that are great for website owners that have their domain.

Their plans, even the most basic one, have enough storage for sites that have a lot of traffic or content. They also have features like A2 Optimized and SSD Speed Boost that ensure faster page loads.

So when it comes to performance, A2 Hosting is a great option.

However, this is only an affordable provider if you already have a domain. As I said, their plans don’t have free domains (probably why they’re affordable).

Web Hosting in Finland (5 Best in 2021) Louhi

Quick facts:

  • 0.5 GB on the Mini plan
  • 10 GB/month traffic
  • Weekday customer support
  • cPanel control panel
  • AWStats visitor analytics

Looking for a local provider that’s affordable? Louhi is your guy.

Louhi has been servicing the country for the last decade and their performance just keeps getting better.

For one thing, Louhi is bent on giving you the most affordable package through their Mini plan.

While this is impressive, this plan doesn’t have a lot of features. For example, it doesn’t have a domain and SSL certificate included. The storage space is also just half of a gigabyte.

However, if you’re just starting and you don’t mind paying for a domain and SSL certificate, then Louhi might be a good choice.

Just make sure that they’re still affordable after you buy a domain and additional security.

Web Hosting in Finland (5 Best in 2021) SiteGround

Quick facts:

  • 100% (August 2023) uptime
  • Free SSL certificate
  • 10 GB SD storage
  • Automatic daily backups
  • Unmetered traffic

Want an eco-friendly web host? You can get that and more with SiteGround.

SiteGround’s unique selling point is that they make sure that they return 100% of their energy consumption through renewable energy.

I know, this has nothing to do with their performance, but this might help explain why SiteGround is a little more expensive than other web hosts on this list.

Nonetheless, you shouldn’t dismiss this provider just because of its fees. When it comes to reliability, there’s no doubt that SiteGround is one of the best.

Yep, their 100% (August 2023) uptime guarantee is real and they rarely don’t reach this point.

So if it’s reliability you’re after, you might be able to forgive this web host’s slightly expensive fees.

Web Hosting in Finland (5 Best in 2021) Sigmatic

Quick facts:

  • Spam and virus filtering
  • Traffic analytics
  • 5 GB storage space
  • 10 mailing lists
  • 10 mailboxes

Catching up on this list is Sigmatic.

Sigmatic might be too expensive for beginners, but it’s a great option if you’re looking to partner with a local web hosting company.

For its starter plan, you get 5 GB of storage space, 10 mailing lists, and 10 mailboxes. Unfortunately, you don’t have a free domain and an SSL certificate that comes with it.

But what I like about Sigmatic is that it has its own data centers right here in the country. This means that you have faster loading speeds thanks to its proximity to your audience.

Web Hosting in Finland FAQs

Still confused about web hosting?

Don’t worry, I’ve put together a few FAQs that will be able to help you.

Why should you get a web host?

A web host is going to be responsible for saving your site’s data and files. It will also connect your website to a person’s browser.

Without a web host, your site won’t be accessible to anyone on the Internet.

What is Shared Hosting?

Shared hosting is a type of web hosting service where your website shares a server with other websites.

Shared hosting is the most affordable of all web hosting types because it has the least storage space and features.

How much does web hosting cost?

Shared hosting plans in Finland can be as low as $1.99/mo (€1.63). However, some providers have a lot of add-ons, so make sure that you check what’s included in your chosen plan.

Conclusion

Finding the ideal web host can be challenging, but it’s not impossible.

With this guide, you will find a provider that suits you while making sure that you don’t have to pay a lot in monthly fees and don’t have to worry about reliability and uptime.
