Okay, now let’s go into the details.

Liquid Web Pros

The pros to Liquid Web are:

  • Excellent uptime
  • Fast loading speed
  • Multiple cPanel support

Excellent uptime

Liquid Web promises a 99.99% uptime guarantee for every month of the year. This ensures that your website is accessible to your users at all times with only a few hours of downtime per year.

Higher uptime rates also mean better SEO ranking as the Google algorithm punishes sites that are constantly offline.

Fast loading speed

For even better ranking and more satisfied users, Liquid Web offers fast loading speeds.

With CDN, dedicated IP, SSD storage space, and 2 server locations (based in the US and Europe), visitors enjoy loading speeds of 340ms. This kind of speed significantly lowers your site’s bounce rate.

Multiple control panel support

Unlike almost every other hosting provider, Liquid Web gives you great flexibility with the choice to select one out of 3 different control panels. These are InterWorx, Plesk, and the traditional cPanel.

Each cPanel offers different features to appeal to your needs. Also, each has its own unique dashboard and a different number of FTP accounts.

Liquid Web Cons

The cons to Liquid Web are:

  • No Shared Hosting plans
  • Relatively expensive
  • No free domain

No Shared Hosting plans

VPS plans are the most basic option Liquid Web provides. You won’t get access to any Shared Hosting plan with them. This can be an issue for a small site owner or blogger looking for a basic hosting service to support their site.

No need to worry though because their sister company, Nexcess, provides Shared WordPress Hosting plans that may be more suited to your small site.

Relatively expensive

Liquid Web’s cheapest hosting plan starts from $15 a month if you pay 2 years upfront. Again, this is because their basic plan is already a VPS Hosting.

So if you’re on a tight budget, it may be a bit difficult to find a feasible plan with Liquid Web.

But if you’re specifically looking for VPS Hosting, then you might consider their price cheap compared to other competitor’s VPS plans.

No free domain

Remember that you won’t get a free domain name with Liquid Web. You have to fork out an additional $15 if you want a domain from them.

This is a downside considering other competitors that offer significantly cheaper plans usually manage to include a free domain for at least the first year.

Liquid Web Performance and Uptime

As you already know, Liquid Web excels in uptime and performance (loading speed). In fact, their loading speed is one of the fastest in the industry.

Such high speeds are achieved with the host of features that Liquid Web offers to improve load times.

This includes a CDN with every plan to direct traffic to the faster server available.

You’ll also get a dedicated IP with every plan, along with SSD storage space that is 20X faster than its HDD counterpart.

And, Liquid Web provides two server locations in the US and Europe to optimize your site speed even further. (However they lack servers in Asia and the Pacific, so you can expect slightly slower speeds if you’re targeting those markets.)

Their uptime and speed improvements have a noticeable effect. It lowers your downtime and bounce rate, as well as improves your customers’ overall site experience, which can reflect positively on your SEO.

Liquid Web Product and Features

Liquid Web’s Linux basic VPS plan comes with 40GB of SSD storage space and 10TB of bandwidth.

This gives you ample storage space with room for videos and photos. However, 40GB may still be limited to some if you plan to upload HD video content.

You’ll also get dedicated resources in the form of 2 GB RAM and 2 vCPUs, which are more than enough for optimal service on a small to medium-scale site.

For the Windows basic VPS plan, you’ll get 100GB of storage space, 10TB bandwidth, 4 GB RAM, and 4 vCPUs. (Note that this plan is more expensive than the Linux, costing $54/mo if paid 2 years upfront.)

On all Liquid Web’s plans, you get unlimited email support, which is great if you want to give each of your employees an email address.

Migrating from another provider?

Liquid Web offers free migration services if you’re running WordPress. All you have to do is kick back and relax while the Liquid Web team handles all the technicalities

When it comes to scalability, Liquid Web doesn’t disappoint with plans tailored to suit most needs.

With their Private VPS, you’ll be able to adjust processing power and bandwidth instantly to react to sudden increases in traffic.

While many Dedicated Hosting plans are provided, Liquid Web allows you to customize a package according to your own needs. This way, you won’t have to overpay for resources you won’t even use.

Liquid Web Security

All of Liquid Web’s plans come with industry-standard security features to keep your site and its users safe at all times.

SSL certificates encrypt your user’s sensitive information, protecting important data such as credit card information. This feature builds visitor trust and, if you’re selling online, increases sales.

You’ll also get free nightly backups on all Liquid Web’s plans, saving your site’s content so that you can recover its data in the unlikely situation that you suffer data loss.

What’s more, DDoS protection uses firewalls to block bots and hackers from trying to take down your site.

And, as it couldn’t get any more secure, Liquid Web’s servers are monitored round the clock to ensure your data is safe and secure at all times. All their data centers also have backup power generators that keep your site online in the event of a power outage.

Liquid Web Customer Service

Another place Liquid Web excels in is customer service. They provide 24/7 support through phone or live chat, with an email option if you pay an extra fee.

You'll also get access to Liquid Web's knowledge hub that has a wealth of different how-to articles and answered FAQs. You can get basic information if you don’t want to contact support.

Wrapping It Up

There’s no doubt about it - Liquid Web is an excellent hosting provider.

But is it the one for you?

It’s perfect for businesses and medium to large scale sites looking for speed, reliability, and stellar features to support their online presence.

However, this isn’t the best option if you’re looking for cheap hosting or are just creating a small blog as their services may be overkill if you’re getting under 50,000 page views a month.

Of course, due to the many plans they provide, they’re a great host to migrate to if your site starts to grow.
